WELCOME!

New Hope Pet Rescue-Michigan (NHPR) is committed to helping people and animals in need. We hold ourselves to a high standard – one which looks out for the physical AND mental well-being of our animals. Our mission is to provide a means to place unwanted, adoptable animals into appropriate, loving homes. All animals brought into rescue are fixed, vaccinated, tested and micro-chipped prior to adoption, and all potential adopters are screened to ensure an appropriate match is made.

Our Mission

To assist the community by providing a means to place unwanted healthy, adoptable pets in good family environments and to make the public aware of such animal issues as care, welfare, and the hazards of overpopulation.

We pledge:

  • To elevate the status of animals in society by changing the way people acquire them and how they commit to those pets who become a part of their family

  • To relieve the plight of homeless pets

  • To reduce overpopulation

  • To provide medical care and/or socialization to all animals in our care

more about us

New Hope Pet Rescue's long term goals are to continue to find loving families for homeless dogs and cats as well as assist people in the community with their personal animals. In addition, we continue to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets as well as proper pet care.  We will continue to work with other shelters to reduce the amount of animals killed in overcrowded shelters each day.  We look forward to a day when no animal will be without a loving family!

foster-based

NHPR is a foster-based rescue, which means that we don't have a physical facility that houses our pets. Rather, we rely on our team of dedicated, passionate fosters to house, care for and love our adoptable pets in their homes until they meet their forever families.

We are proud to be a certified Good Dog rescue/shelter. This certification recognizes our commitment to the Good Dog values: animal care & wellbeing, ending pet homelessness, and transparent financial practices. Through this partnership, we're also able to offer exclusive perks to our fosters and adopters.

501C(3) rescue

NHPR is a 501c3 rescue.  All donations that are made to our mission can be written off.  We do rely on donations and can't save lives without them.  In the year 2019 New Hope Pet Rescue successfully placed 830 dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens into their forever homes.

New Hope Pet Rescue

815 N. Sheldon

Charlotte, MI 48813

We will be answering emails and Facebook messages for animals that are currently available. Some animals can have up to 100 applications each, so we will send application approval emails and reply to requests for available animals only. If you do not hear from us, the animal is not available for adoption anymore. Our application screening team, staff, and fosters are all volunteers and are keeping up with communication as fast as they can.

Thanks! Message sent.
